Everything in life is just a big rat-race, honestly, I'm actually starting to believe we just chase s*** we don't need simply to feed our ego's this isn't just jobs but everything to do with life, in fact, there's no meaning to life whatsoever. From a young age, we're conditioned to feed our egos and chase desires and status. right now I don't even believe there's an ounce of meaning to our existence.

We're all trapped in our own minds.

I can't wait to CTB and end this whole madness.

I couldn´t agree more and we need to have these desires, hopes and dreams to give "meaning" to our life otherewise we end up being depressed and suicidal.

Also if you haven´t already seen it check this video out from Steve Cutts it´s literally a short animated video about the rat race of life.

Yeah, you are rght guys, I think everyone at some point in their lives realises that life by itself, objectively is meaningless. It is us who give meaning to our lives - and most people get to the conclusion that life is all about making yourself (and others for that matter) feel good. Be it trough obtaining money and power or by treasuring every waking momment, it does not really matter in the grand scheme of things.

Not that this is a bad thing though - we are here for now, we should do what we can to enjoy ourselves.

I agree, the world has gone mad. Once we had purpose because we felt intertwined with our families and our communities. There was a notion of duty, lest you let them down and you felt pride in being a part of something larger than yourself. All of that is gone now. We live in big anonymous cities, we don't know the people next door, and for anything we need we have it delivered to our house or we drive to a big box store, keep our heads down, buy what we need, and get the hell out. As for families, the divorce rate is over 50% and its only that low because people are realizing its a giant scam. Now our "purpose" is to work 8+ hours a day to afford useless stuff we don't have the time use because we work 8+ hours a day to afford useless stuff we don't have the time to use because...

I can relate and yes, that seems to be the majority of life, especially after one exits primary education (or secondary if they went ahead to higher education - college, university, etc.).

@TheGoodGuy Good video, it illustrates the life of a worker, wage slave, and just most people in society this day and age. It is rather realistic and depressing. Personally, I do believe we need fewer working hours, better pay (for many jobs), better benefits, and what not, but I digress. Ultimately, non-existence would be the ideal state to be, no wage-slaving, no grind, no suffering, no getting old, no pleasure, but just pure nothingness.

Technically the "meaning" in people's lives are just whatever stops them from committing suicide. If they didn't have it, they would've committed suicide right on the spot.

People cling to their "meaning of life" like it's the holy grail or something. They don't think that because of their so called "meaning of life" can also make them depressed or even not motivated at times.
