I've been vegan for 3 years now, i think the pain in my life has made me more sensitive to the pain of other organisms and I can't bring myself to cause pain to anything
How? You'd still be eatingHmmm... Becoming vegan would probably help me finally defeat that damn survival instinct. Definitely food for thought
Let's just say that it would be much easier for me to quit eating. Jokes aside, i have IBS & I can't eat beans & most veggies. Meat is the only thing that doesn't give me diarrheaHow? You'd still be eating
I get that DD. I think the absolute cruelty of this world with animals being tortured and humans wanting to kill other humans and inflict such horrid things on people/animals has made me question what this world is about and who's running the show cos if someone is they're a sick MF.Yes. I am an antinatalist, so I feel horrible being even remotely responsible for the creation of life. But generally creating sentient beings just to use, abuse and kill them is so perverse I started to feel sick even just looking at animal products, so I went vegan. It is difficult and relatively expensive (since animal products are so insanely cheap), but when I look at animal products everything that had to happen to create it flashes through my mind and I don't want to eat anymore. The horrific nature of life comes to my mind and I just want to kill myself. Like every damn second I'm unable to distract myself.
Nah, I simply like meat too much. But since I live in a rural place with lots of farms it is easy to get more ethically sourced meat and I try to do so whenever I can.I've been vegan for 3 years now, i think the pain in my life has made me more sensitive to the pain of other organisms and I can't bring myself to cause pain to anything
One of those guys claims that staring at the sun cured his blindnessI want to become one of those photosynthetic breathtarians and get energy by sunbathing. Truly the definition of a superior lifeform.

This is me too. Meat and milk are the only things I can eat that don't cause me pain and nasty side effects. Currently the only reason I eat at all or it would be pain and misery all day.Let's just say that it would be much easier for me to quit eating. I wouldn't tell a vegan that they're morally superior (because they're not), that community already has a complex.I eat what grows out of the ground, flies in the sky or swims in the sea (not Octopuses tho), but I do not eat land animals.
I think you're morally superior @esoterispeec for being vegan and you have my respect. I'd like the think if I was happy and not dying soon, I'd attempt veganism, but it'd be easier said than done for sure. x
I believe they are morally superior; that's why I said it. You're free to think and express that they aren't.I wouldn't tell a vegan that they're morally superior (because they're not), that community already has a complex.
Which reminds me, I'm glad to see that this post has had varied and measured responses, since usually nothing good ever comes of a vegan thread on the internet.
It's usually just self congratulatory vegans patting eachother on the backs, believing they've won the "best human" award simply for their diet and vegan lifestyle, some of them-meanwhile-being otherwise nasty individuals who don't give a flying shit about the suffering of their fellow human being.
That's why so many people have problems with that community, hell-even some very nice vegans have problems with other vegans (yes not all vegans act atrociously, some are quite sweet and level-headed.)
Vegetarians get ran out of town too, apparently they're not good enough, nor are reductionists.
Pescatarian? Forget about it, vegans don't like you either, and now that Netflix documentary came out, and they REALLY don't like you.
Veganism has become a cult, unless you are a vegan independent of the online communities, (ever been on r/vegan? Don't.)
...
If you're someone who can manage the diet, I applaud you, but I also don't appreciate when vegans claim that people who can't thrive on the diet are lying or "making up excuses" and they (vegans) back up their claims with biased studies that are orchestrated by vegans, whilst omitting significant information or denying their own hypocrisy in contributing to a carbon footprint (as well as indirectly contributing to the death and destruction of animals and wildlife).
I have been both vegetarian and vegan for extended periods of time (years), and it was not good for my health (to say the least).
Even though I've grown apathetic to the world and all its creatures because of my own suffering, I still do my best not to over-consume or indulge in anything unnecessary that contributes to the mistreatment of animals.
But I'm not perfect by any means.
If people really want to make a difference in human and animal suffering, I would suggest starting with the choice to abstain from bringing any more children into this world. @DisillusionedDragon has the right idea, as far as that goes.
