The poll is anonymous.
For me it's the 4th option. I will be making a thread about it in the future. I was wondering what is the situation with you guys.

I'm option 3, I have a good general doctor and psychiatrist. I agree with others, the poll could include a 5th option for those without healthcare. I highly doubt anyone lacks healthcare by choice, by the way.

Some terminally ill patients do refuse treatment. I know of some in real life .

That's good to hear :)
Ah, you're right. I was thinking we were referring to an actual healthcare plan, not healthcare as in treatment. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding.

I too thought we were referring to a public funded healthcare plan.

But I would struggle with private treatment anyway haha.

So many people can't, and it's a shame. I'm so lucky I have a job that provides affordable healthcare, otherwise I'd be SOL. I wish it could go to someone more deserving though.

Everyone deserves health care.
It's a basic human right but sadly not always the case.

I have a primary care doc who does his best on all my issues. I have a ton. I cant afford specialists and no mental health care around takes my insurance. He has done his best, while it doesn't work well it does keep me from being in non stop hysterics. I miss my son who died in a car accident

I choose not to have health care because I don't like to listen to my doctors anyway. I don't trust many of them because I seriously don't believe anyone actually becomes a doctor anymore because they enjoy the practice. Everyone I know who's studying to be in medicine is only doing it for money or to please their unloving parents (or both). A lot of Med students also cheat their way through school anyway and doctors these days just use webmd like anyone else and prescribe based on which pharmaceutical companies pay them more.

Things aren't even that much better in countries with socialized medicine. Sometimes I've been to Taiwan for their free health care but I can tell the quality of doctors there is even lower specifically because it's cheaper. Even doctors there who do care are simply overworked and get stuff wrong all the time through their need to make quicker judgments.

Then again I don't even care enough about myself either way which is why I just try not to make myself require immediate medical attention. If I die, I die. Whatever.

Chose the fourth option. I felt somewhat optimistic when I first started treatment, because it seemed like my psychiatrist was alright and my psychologist understood me at least a little bit. But time has made it quite apparent that none of that is true, and now I feel stupid for ever thinking they could help. :)

4th option. Gave up and went my own way. I think most doctors have NPD, they give you promises of getting better, and then discard you after they give you the medicines.

I want to say I'm not receiving healthcare, but I'm being given antiepileptics, so that counts I guess. Oh, and they're finally switching me off of the one that's making me too ill to eat, after 3 months of telling them that it's a problem.

Still ignoring me with everything else, though...

After a big hurdle ("too disabled")
I finally got my healthcare back this month.
It's generally good where I live but there aren't anymore treatment options for my physical disability thats why I'm basically just paying them for nothing.
And the psychiatrist I've seen couldn't really help me either since my mental state is largely intertwined with my physical disability which again nobody can take away from me.
So this poll hasn't really got an option for me.
I'd say I generally only needed healthcare when I had an accident and wanted help.

The healthcare in My country is okay but the waiting time is extreme and in that time someone would probably off themselves already if they were deep in some shit

I live in a country with a public healthcare system and I'm 95 % content with the healthcare I receive. Also, the maximum amount I have to pay for healthcare is around €110 a year and for medicines around €230 a year. I feel spoiled, to be honest. However, our domestic neo-liberal bastards try to dismantle the system just like everywhere else.

and doctors these days just use webmd like anyone else
What is your basis for this belief ? I don't know much about being a doctor but doesn't it takes many years to become one . They have lot's of exams.
Then again I don't even care enough about myself either way which is why I just try not to make myself require immediate medical attention.
Don't miss out on treatment @Dr Iron Arc .Whether you trust your doctors or not If the diagnosis is right , the treatment must be based on medical science which might be helping you keep your quality of life . You can always cross check the treatment with different doctors . On a second thought , if I didn't trust my doctor I would change him rather than taking his treatment but I will still take treatment of a different doctor.

The same is true for me. Except I have a physical ailment.
4th option. Gave up and went my own way
Are you sure about this . If you have got a correct diagnosis the treatment must be based on some medical science. That sounds more logical than going on your own.

Testimony from real doctors. They use webmd for any symptoms they don't already recognize and often times they will usually first assume whatever ails you is the least serious possible thing which means if you have some terrible and uncommon thing it might not get detected early enough.

The exams can easily be cheated on since these answers are probably easy enough to find online. A lot of doctors also leave most of the work to their nurses anyway so they definitely don't care enough to check further than they feel they need to for most things.

Every time I go to the doctor and feel wrong about something they instantly blame my diet and lack of exercise. I don't care if they're right but the fact they won't look any further and realize that I literally know people with even unhealthier habits who don't have some of the same conditions I have is suspicious enough. Again, they just want to push the medications they were paid to push anyway and I already mentioned other reasons I don't trust them. I dare you to find a doctor today who would still practice if they were making way less money and if their parents disapproved of the profession.
