hell,o ive been both a bully and a victim of bullies, but mainly a bully.. are there others?

we are portrayed in a negative light so i understand if you dont want to reveal yourself. but i would like to talk to people like me. maybe talk to some victims and try to understand why we are like this.

One got stabbed, the other got beaten in the pub with an ashtray.

thank you this is what i wanted to hear. there doesnt seem to be a lot of people owning up to it tho.
a lot of people talk about how they are hurt. but i want to talk about how we hurt other people.

Well, nobody's a fucking angel, but loads of people are on here because truly malignant bullies (mostly their own parents) have fucked them up beyond repair. I wouldn't ask suicidal victims of bullying to accept that they're a part of the problem

How would you define bullying? Am I a bully for joyously treating certain hateful assholes in my life with contempt & exposing them for what they are every chance I get? It's only bullying if you're punching down, if you ask me.

Like you, I've been both a bully and a victim of bullies. I don't think I can attribute my cruel behaviour to shit circumstances either.. not entirely. I think I was probably born with a proclivity for sadistic tendencies. These don't really define me anymore given that I've experienced what it's like to be a victim.

Kids are assholes, I'd bet the majority partook in schoolyard bullying based off their hierarchy/cliques as kids, at least to some degree.

I'm not saying it's OK at all, but when kids don't grow out of it, and take serious bullying into adulthood and employment like I see at times, is especially terrible.

In secondary school there was this kid whos parents were famous artists. the father was a composer of pop songs and the mother was a pop singer. everyone sucked up to this kid. and he was an asshole. he made me feel so inferior!!! one day he brought a guitar to school played some ridiculous shit in class and everyone was like oo la la paris. but shit! playing the guitar was my thing! so after school i went up to him with two of my goons, and asked him to play the best he had. then i snatched the guitar from him, and i played something maybe marginally better, i like to remember. then i said something like: "first learn to play and then to brag" and then i punched him hard in the arm.

was i punching up to a rich famous kid who had everything in life, or was i punching down on a weak kid who didnt know how to play the guitar?

I'm not a bully, but in my childhood I was a coward bully, I bullied so the other bullies wouldn't pick on me so much.
One victim had their head shoved into a hard wall.. I wish I could meet them to apologize and let them beat me up.

Nobody deserves to get repeatedly harassed over nothing.

Even though people are very strongly anti-suicide, some people are disliked enough that many would prefer if they killed themselves. I think I fall into that niche.

Not exactly a bully but I tend to play the mind fuck. I know it's wrong but some people just walk right into it. In fact, I believe it's more damaging than physical injury because you reach a point where you can't even trust yourself. I did psychology at college,so it's pretty easy. Just inducing paranoia,doubt and mistrust.

i had this theory that we bullies were made by other bullies, like vampires. how did you learn to bully if it was never done to you?

That would describe me pretty well. I have never been a major bully, but I have been both. More of a victim than a bully thankfully.

To me, it seems like knowing you were a bully brings deep shame and regret that you can't just easilly get over. There was this one manipulative bully I had and if I did all the horrible manipulations to someone that he did to me, id honestly want to ctb over it.

This may be fucked up and just wrong, but in a certain way the bullies are the bigger victims. Maybe I'm just dumb tho.

Why would you assume that all bullies feel deep shame & regret? Most of them don't give a shit about their current victims & they don't even remember who they tortured as kids

That's true. When I wrote that, I was also thinking about how I had later met my biggest bully and he obviously had absolutely no regret or shame. Id say it depends on the bully. Some are absolute fucking scum who feel pride in what they did, but I'm sure there are still some who feel bad for what they did and regret it deeply.

I just personally don't like the idea oh you did something bad once and now you can never be forgiven. People do change and I do believe that a bully should be able to receive forgiveness if they regret what they did and have changed as a person.

It depends on how badly they damaged their victim. If they totally destroyed someone, they deserve to be kept in a cage & beg for bread & water.

I don't know if I can really agree with that even if I have fantasies of doing that to a few people.

If I'd been able to do that to my parents, I would have. I was sexually abused & beaten as a boy, so I'm not big on forgiveness

Kind of guessed you went through something from how you talked. It does make me understand why you feel the way you do.
