I find that when I'm anxious, worried, fearful or more depressed than usual, yes, I hardly eat. Sometimes I have to force myself to have a smoothie or nutritional supplement. I would not say food doesn't interest me though. There are times when I have a good appetite, but lately it has been extremely low. I usually would smoke pot to get an appetite & lift my mood, but lately that's not always working.

Yeah maybe try protein shakes.

I know loss of appetite is a sign of depression, but I think I've also read it dulls/losses sense of taste as well.

My appetite has definitely decreased though my weight is not budging. I was recently diagnosed with Hypothyroidism, which has something to do with this, I'm sure.

I used to weigh around 125-130 (5'6") when I was very physically active and eating relatively healthy. Used to really enjoy cooking and discovering recipes, etc. I was also secretly struggling with Anorexia and Bulimia.

Now I weigh 190ish which is wild if I really think about it, but overall I'm not bothered. I kind of don't care so much about my weight numerically anymore. It is a little frustrating though, since there are days I eat absolutely nothing and my weight stays the same.

I had been on Seroquel for about 2 years and I'd say that's when I started packing on the weight. I felt like a zombie on Seroquel, and just stopped giving a shit about what I ate, if I ate at all. Apart from Seroquel (an antipsychotic), most antidepressants cause weight gain.

Anyway, yeah, my appetite is almost non existent at this point. I can go for days without eating or feeling hunger pangs, but I do try to stay hydrated. I like zero calorie electrolyte drinks, specifically Powerade Zero, the blue one. And black coffee :)

Yes when I lose my appetite or even when I jump to the other extreme and mindlessly eat, I often lose all taste.
I don't have great taste to begin with because it's difficult for me to breathe through my nose and that affects things, but this is a different type of lose of taste. It must be psychosomatic or something.
When this happens I just stick with eating plain oatmeal because that's what everything tastes like anyways.

There are a few changes taking place in my life right now and the older I get, the more averse to change I appear to become. When overly stressed/anxious, the first thing to go is my appetite and it takes me all my time to eat or drink anything. So yeah, right now, food/drink is the last thing on my list of priorities.

I have constant struggles with food. I recently went on a diet to get myself back to what is sort of average weight for me these days. It was pretty grueling. I'm now done with it and so I'm just trying to eat around my standard caloric needs (2200-2500) but I'm having major food cravings and it's very difficult for me not to just eat a whole pizza for example.

After I lost the weight I went and bought nicer clothes like expensive jeans and stuff, to incentivize me to keep it off. It's sort of working out but it's a daily struggle for me not to cave and binge eat like I always did. I've yo-yo'd big time over the last few years so my track record isn't the best. I just hope I don't fuck up again. I love food but hate feeling fat.

Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels - Kate Moss
I often had to think of that quote, lol. I don't know why I even care really. Unfortunately I'm kind of vain for a guy in his mid thirties. Not like majorly but I want to be a good looking middle aged dude in the future, provided I make it to that point. I recently discovered some new gray hair so that kind of messed with me too. I feel a bit like I'm having a mini (and early) midlife crisis.

I used to love to cook and bake. Now I don''t. Food has no taste for me anymore. I lost about thirty pounds since mid-April. I use to drink. I stopped that, bit I guess that is a good thing.

My caloric intake is up a bit. But i just eat plain stuff. Nothing creative.
