Been on Prozac since early 90's, tried to get off them many times but ultimately can't, I just go back downhill into suicidal depression and anxiety, going to have to take them rest of life oh well

Dude, right?! Even with some incredibly valiant efforts, it was impossible with one of the SSRIs I was on. Wtf?! Lol.I tried Prozac and various other antidepressants...they did make it impossible for me to orgasm. :-/

I'm on 400 mg of Wellbutrin now for neuropathic pain. But I've found that it has improved my motivation and mood a little bit. I mean, not to where I'm a normal person, but now I shower more frequently and keep my apartment a little cleaner even when someone isn't coming over. I've also used it to quit smoking 2x in the past, and it totally works for that.
Weed is my antidepressant.
AMEN.Weed is my antidepressant.
HA! Right?! Totally. You know, I don't know. There is a generic, so that should help, but I guess you can say that for most medications now.I have heard positive things about Wellbutrin. I wonder if it is expensive without insurance? I'm going to mention it to my doctor the next time I go. (As for the SSRIs I've tried, taking away one of life's greatest pleasures definitely did not serve to decrease the severity of my depression...plus it's how I get myself to sleep most nights haha)

The price depends on where you live. In Europe the average price for it is +- 20 euro for 30 tablets. It's available under the names: Wellbutrin, Bupropion and Zyban.
I'm also on Wellbutrin. It worked at first, and now I don't feel it's stimulant effects anymore. Hence, I'm here researching...I've been taking Wellbutrin for over 10 years. It worked great and I didn't gain any weight on it like I did on all the others. I think i'm going to have to switch to Cymbalta next though, it's supposed to be good for depression and nerve pain, and I have both now.
I took it for many years, started at probably 25, and took till like age 35. I don't even know how I came off but I did taper. It might have took the edge off but it did nothing to solve problems or improve my life in any significant way. It may have actually harmed me because I had hypomanic episodes. I would be impulsive and reckless on it, which is supposed to be the opposite of what happens. While on the med I couldn't see my behavior changes that clearly. Or I didn't put it together that it might be the medication. I decided to take myself off it because I learned that a lot of these meds are actually not good for u and can cause longterm damage. Don't get me started on how adderall can wreck your life lol! Should be called legal meth because it's very much like that.Been on Prozac since early 90's, tried to get off them many times but ultimately can't, I just go back downhill into suicidal depression and anxiety, going to have to take them rest of life oh well
