If any of you have any experience taking Sumatriptan, please share. I was prescribed this yesterday by the neurologist to treat headaches/migraines however, I was doing a little research into the side effects and ugh...black tongue? Chest pain? No thanks. I haven't tried the medication yet and instead opted to take 800mg of Ibuprofen. Curious if any of you have taken Sumatriptan and it helped.

Thanks and hugs! ❤️

Rarely, if I can't handle my migraines with lower potent painkillers, I have take it, to make a break through. But I don't think about side effects. To take more painkillers which are not working in this situation, isn't better for my health.

Thank you for replying, I appreciate the insight. I've had such awful pain in my head for months, at times the headaches turn into full blown migraines with nausea. I guess I'll give the Sumatriptan a whirl and try not to think of what could potentially go wrong as far as negative side effects. I used to not care so much, and would try anything/take whatever medication and hope for the best but lately, curiosity has gotten the best of me. Thanks again!

Migraines is terrible and I hope this Triptan is well working for you and you won't get any negative side effects or health problems in short or long term.

I get anything from 2-8 migraine attacks a month. Sometimes I pop 500mg naproxen when I feel the prodome coming and that's that. But sometimes I'm too slow or it's a stubborn hormonal migraine, and only sumatriptan can touch that. I haven't noticed any side effects that would be worse than the pain and nausea, or the hangover after.

Thank you for responding! Hearing other people's experience with Sumatriptan is reassuring and I feel less weary of trying it. ❤️
