i tried but the government decided that we "make enough money" already despite us debating on going to the food bank. yep, that sounds like enough money

I'm on disability for my autism but I don't hate it. What I hate is that I can't use the disability money for myself as my mum has decided to use it for herself instead

If you live in the UK, you can have the money paid into your own account. It is your money and belongs to you.

Being apart of DDD and other programs due to my autism is mildly humiliating. I know this term isn't proper anymore, but for lack of better words I'm "high-functioning" yet everyone speaks to me like I'm 5 years old and eith zero respect. Neurological adults will separate me from them. I've legit been segregated to group of other autistic/disabled people (to the point they cannot speak, walk, etc) rather than neurotypicals. (Probably phrased this like shit)Yes, and I hate how it prevents you from progressing.
For example, you're only allowed to work a certain amount of hours or they claw back the amount they give you and you can't own property or any other assets or they count that against your payments.
It's so redundant that you have to rely solely on their support and you can't try and better yourself through investments or anything else. Hell, even inheritance is counted against the amount they pay.
The philosophy is, even if your mental health only allows you to work menial jobs or doesn't allow you to obtain your bachelor's degree, that's a 'you' problem. You will rely solely on the government or nothing else.
