• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

This was the case for me, the person who was outwardly hostile towards me expressing my suicidal ideation was ironically someone who attempted suicide? Any explanation for that?

People say that people who treat suicidal people badly haven't gone through the same thing so they lack empathy but what's the explanation for these cases. In fact, the people who actually went out of their way to give me a book titled "Elation and Depression" were the happiest people. They never called suicide selfish or cowardly (well to be fair for no one in my school ever said similar things but that guy did give the impression that my depression was 'weak' or 'silly' i.e. what do you have to be sad about). They also never critisized me to my face.

My theory is that almost certainly, he was indoctrinated with "tough love" by family/therapist or he had these "ephiphanies" and thinks that being "tough" will prevent him from ever reaching that low point.

I'm ashamed to say I used to think along similar lines when my brother was depressed. I did all the things I thought would "help" him but I know know were harmful. Believe me I have apologised profusely since I was able to relate and we have a good relationship now. At the time I just had no idea. I would like to apologise on behalf of other well meaning peoples in all of your lives who have no idea.
