Anyone else feel compelled in part to ctb because the only person you can trust is yourself and it’s exhausting?

The only other people I can trust are my parents, but I'm an adult and living with them isn't an option. Recently I asked my live-in landlord to mail an important letter for me since I no longer have a car. She seems nice and said she would. Later that day I asked her if she did, and she said yes. I then told her why the letter needed to be sent and she looked shifty eyed at her friend. That made me suspicious. The explanation I gave for the urgency of the letter wasn't some deeply personal matter either.

For me, it's kind of the opposite. As in, I want to ctb because I can't trust myself, can't rely on myself, can't be independent.

I don't know what it means to not trust oneself. Concept is completely foreign.

You say the only person you can trust is yourself. Oh, and then your parents as well. So the thread title is a contradiction in itself. You can actually trust someone other than yourself, you openly say so.

So the simple answer is, just like you, there are others I can trust so it has nothing whatsoever to do with my desires to end my own life.
