  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

Recently, I've started teaching lots of English and Spanish lessons but yesterday, even more job offers showed up. If I do this, I will be able to save money to make my dream come true before ctb: visit Japan.

HOWEVER...

I think I'm biting off more than I can chew.
I'm still bipolar and I've started feeling lots of pressure. Also, I can barely sleep so I feel really tired all day long. (I was given new meds, quetiapine. Have you heard of it? Hope it works!)

For this reason, I think I'm gonna turn down some offers. I have some weeks to make a decision.

Can anyone relate? Not only at work but maybe you're also biting off more than you can chew in any other situation? Let me know!

Thanks for your replies,

Hugs,

Matt

yes although slightly different i think. ill have a good day, take on most of the work because i can handle it. then a bad stretch will show up and ill spend the time beating myself up because i cant do what i know i can do, which doesnt help.

so although i think theyre different situations i do still know the feeling of, i cant do this

I think you're making the right decision, by turning down some offers! It can feel really bad, but at the same time, you don't want to overwhelm yourself with too much work. That can cause way more problems than it solves in the long run! And it's always important to put yourself & your mental health first, I think. You don't need to feel any unnecessary pressure, that might cause things to spiral & get a lot worse. It sounds like you're already doing a great job with the amount of work you're currently doing, so hopefully you can feel proud of everything you've already achieved! I hope your new meds work well for you, too.

In the past, I definitely bit off more than I could chew, with trying to work a job & do studies to get the qualifications I needed to enter university, both at the same time! My mental health was already bad, but all of that extra stress made it a lot worse, and I ended up dropping both my job and my studies. So I definitely think taking things at your own pace is important, so you don't accidentally self-destruct under the pressure!

I tried quetiapine for insomnia. It worked pretty well for a few weeks, and then it stopped working.

I'm bipolar too. Be careful. We're more sensitive to stress than the general population and too much work and stress can trigger a depressive episode.

I'm bipolar too and I second this ^^
Too much work = too much stress = sad panda
Go easy on yourself, you will still be able to save the money but just give yourself more time to reach that goal and work a bit less but for a little longer. Slow and steady wins the race xD

My social life as well as my love life have gone to hell because I get overly emotional, insecure, unstable, unpredictable, irritable, and impulsive when I have a depressive episode. I believe it's beyond repair and it's one of the reasons, if not the main reason, I'm here.
