I know this is really off topic and random but I was wondering if anybody else here likes the work of JRR Tolkien?
I used to read and love his books as a child.
Also I enjoyed the film adaptations.
That magical world full of adventure, imagination and the power of friendship really resinated with me.
Now in the darkest days of my life when I contemplate suicide every single day I have found myself returning to those beloved books who have been like old friends to me.
I do it for comfort and to draw some hope that a better life may still be possible.
Always I remember that beautiful quote -
"All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king."
I guess I'm getting a little sentimental and way too emotional.
Anyway, anybody else a fan?
