As it slowly gets harder and harder to move, I'm a young adult who probably won't get approved for disability and will have to stay in my mom's basement barely able to make it up the stairs. The doctors still refuse to do anything for me. Is there anything I can do for my quality of life? The past few days have been extremely crippling now that I have severe knee pain along with not being able to move my legs. I get around slowly and I can still manage to ride a bike short distances for Pokemon go. I have to sleep 12 hours a day to be able to move which now includes horrible nightmares. How do I go on? Ive mostly been distracted with video games but soon I'll be too vegetabley to do that. Was also looking at the night night method. I would like to ctb before going full vegetable. I know that I'm probably going to have to commit to it soon. But is there anything to distract myself? I was using Pokemon Go as a distraction but now I'm running out of ways to be able to participate. I live in a small city so I have most things accessible to myself. I would be accepting of both methods, methods for ctb or for

For me, playing dating sims (particularly otome games), Fate Grand Order, or reading something like Skip Beat or Loveless help kill time :notsure:

Try learning something online. Programming, graphic design, etc. You might even be able to collaborate on projects with others online. Even if you don't get paid for it you'll have a sense of accomplishment doing this.

I had a hard time occupying myself on an antiemetic regimen, I learned a lot for what to expect though.

For the next 2 day regimen, I have 2 TV series ready to watch that will take up the bulk of the time. They are two of my favourites, that I would have watched already if I had not been hit with major depression. I have seen a little of them already and like the look of them, I can guarantee that I will at least feel they're "worthwhile".

Having something like this ready for your final few days might be useful, it is important to me because even though I am really worn down and don't really enjoy anything, I couldn't help feeling bad I was literally doing nothing in what I thought were my final 48 hours.

Hope this is useful to you.

Watching TV-series can be a good way to pass time. I can recommend "Lucifer". It's on Netflix.

Absolutely loved these. I'd recommend for sure. Also Stranger Things.

Stranger Things season 1 was very good! Season 2 was ok. But how is season 3? I have not seen it yet.
Somewhere in between 1 and 2, but I doubt they'll ever capture the magic of 1 again.

Kind of a double-edged sword though, since video games do burn time like a forest fire, but they always leave me feeling even more lonely when I close the game. Maybe there's other better ways to pass the time.

Are there any medications you can take that would make you sleep for longer? I've been using amitriptyline so I'm only awake for 8-12 hours, but I don't think it's a long term solution, you might build tolerance. There's probably lots of drugs you could cycle through though.

You have ALS?
We aren't sure yet, but that's one of my biggest fears currently

I'm not sure, I'm currently taking Seroquel to help me sleep but it doesn't ever seem to work consistently.

I am on Codeine and sometimes Dihydrocodeine, both are good for me, but you say pain meds make you I'll,
Have you tried Phenergan, its a travel sickness anti histamine but also works well as a sedative which is good.

Give them a try.

Let me know how they go for you.

Like was suggested by others here, what about books, movies and tv series? My favorite tv show is Supernatural, it's going into its 15(and unfortunately last) season so there's plenty of episodes already. And with Pokémon Go I think I might help in some way, there is an app that lets you spoof your location in Pokémon Go, and it lets you teleport anywhere in the world and gives you joystick to walk around in the map, and if you play by the rules of spoofing(cheating location) there's a big chance you won't get banned, many people have spoofed for many months without getting banned and caught. The app is called "iSpoofer". It's great and it's free, only with some functions hidden behind the paywall. For free it lets you teleport and use joystick as long as you want, for a donation(I think it's like 12-15$ for three months) it gives you the option of autowalking(great for hatching eggs) and gives you coordinates for rare Pokémon and 100IV Pokémon. Plus some other functions as well. Unfortunately it's only for iOS and you'll have to find out how to install it but they explain everything on their site and if you have some questions you can DM me, just google "iSpoofer" and find their site it'll help a lot too. They also have a discord channel for spoofers there you can ask moderators about how to install the app as well and about everything else regarding iSpoofer and Pokémon go in general. They have even calendars and a community of people sharing their gameplay experience and screenshots of their favorite catches, I think a link to their discord is on their site as well, but if you can't find it but want to join DM me I'll try to help. Plus there you can find coordinates to teleport to the best spots in the world for Pokémon go like "Paris Mall" or "Budapest spot" which have lots of pokestops close to each other and are always lured up, especially "Paris Mall" it has lured on pretty much 24/7. Plus you can find out about other ways to help you play Pokémon go like a device called "Gotcha" that auto catches and auto spins pokestops for you, especially when you use auto walk on iSpoofer with gotcha you can just put your phone down and the game will basically play itself(find out more about gotcha if you are interested there are some details about it and some limitations too unfortunately but they aren't so bad, like gotcha only throws red balls at Pokémon and no other balls for example). But if you have android device I hear there is a way to fake your location on it too but I'm not too familiar with it, but when you go to iSpoofer discord they can invite you to "Poke Experience" discord (I think the link to this discord also is on the iSpoofer web page) and they have a channel for android spoofing, they can help you out and explain you everything.
I'm distracting myself with video games too, but I only have a very old tablet that's no good for games and one iPhone so I'm limited to play games only on an iPhone. I like playing Pokémon Go and I spoof because I don't like to go outside and it's not the most exciting gameplay for Pokémon go in my city anyway(it's not the worst but still) I also play Hogwarts Mystery as I'm a Harry Potter fan and it's fun to me, and I LOVE playing "The Simpsons Tapped Out" because I'm a Simpsons fan but also the game is incredibly fun in itself and so vast and has so many possibilities. It's bassically a game where you build your whole own Springfield that can grown to be HUGE, while unlocking all the show's characters while gaining levels and sending them to do different jobs to earn exp and money to build a bigger and better city, and it's a really beautiful game and has lots of awesome events that happen often! I LOVE IT and there's also a way to hack it too to get premium items for free - if you are interested in hacking it google "Team TSTO" they made a modified app for this game for android platform(I think it's only for android unfortunately I'm not sure if they make it for iOS but you should check to be sure, lucky I have the tablet it's the only game I play on it but it's laggy but goof enough to just buy the premium items and leave and go back playing on my iPhone) the last time I checked they let you download modified app only after a 1$ donation but before it was completely free so I don't know maybe they'll make it free again soon. I haven't downloaded it recently since I don't want any premium items right now I only have old versions which don't work anymore cuz as the oficial game updates the modified has to update too because they share the same servers plus to get the new events on the modified app.
I wish I could help you more all I can say to add is when I didn't have any devices and no internet access I kept reading my favorite books again and again and music, I LOVE music. Think about listening music, watching tvshows - movies, reading books, there are lots of great stories out there worth discovering through this type of art.
Good luck I hope you find what will help you, and if you DM me I'll try to answer as quick as possible but unfortunately I sometimes can spend days without logging in so I'm sorry if I'll be late, but I'll try my best❤️
