When you're going up, it's constantly emphasised to be careful around electronics... isn't it easy to have an electrical accident?

Electrocution is a horribly painful way to go and will leave you with awful burns should you fail.

He bypassed the outlets, and hence the overload protections; that is how he was able to do it. So unless you are an electrician I don't see you being able to hook up to the main like he did - no offense. Besides it seems like a horrible way to go and definitely not something you want to survive if things don't work out.

There have been folks who climbed high tension towers and made contact with the transmission wires. These lines are usually around 13,000 volts. They were electrocuted but somehow managed to survive. They were severely burned and spent long periods in the hospital burn wards. This is not a sure method, it is very painful and can leave you very disfigured. It is something I would not try.
