I guess part of staying alive is to have something to look forward to. It's like you know there's something in the future you don't want to miss out on.

Before I became chronically ill I used to spent a lot of time on planning travels abroad and were pretty excited to go with my backpack to discover other cultures, try different food and see the beauty of nature. Nowadays just the thought of travelling is exhausting and I don't have the strength to go on longer vacation like I used to do.

Since I've been interested in sports the most of my life (and played on high level myself) I used to look forward to big events like World/European Cup and The Olympics. I think it can still be exiting if my own country is doing good, but when you have seen these events many times you know it's just the same over again with different outcomes and a few days/weeks later it's almost forgotten.

I've also been very interested in AI (Artificial Intelligence). I think it's both interesting and scary what can be done with this kind of technology. If it turns out good then it probably change the world for the better. If not then it might end the human race. Some experts says Super Intelligence is just a few decades away. If it happens then it might be the most important event in human history and somehow I don't want to miss out on it.

So what are you looking forward to in the future?

I wouldn't say that I'm "looking forward to it" but I'm curious about how things will play out for humanity and the whole planet in the coming century (and beyond). How bad climate change will get, what societal and political ramifications it will have, what will happen in technology and science. Stuff like that.

I think there might also be a new Hammers of Misfortune album coming out at some point.

In my case, there is not much to look forward too. In a way, I wish there was, it would make life more bearable. I dread the future. The one thing that does make me feel a little bit better is being out in nature, particularly forests where there is no people. I do hope to do that soon.

Sports is a good one indeed. somewhat empty and the same thing over and over kinda like you said but still. The club I support (Feyenoord) has a suprisingly promising start with a new coach and few new players. Together with a friend we managed to buy a seasonpass in one of the more fanatic stands (probably most crazy fans in Netherlands. Search frfc1908 on YouTube if you are curious).

What you have with AI i have with space stuff. New missions etc. But missions are expensive and take long so news is pretty slow but still. Love to hear the results of a probe dig through Europa's ice to find an ocean or ultimately the mars colonalization start. But im afraid thats a both a long way off. Still i kinda want to be around when humans become an interplanetarian species.

I think about the future like you all the time. Like where technology will be and the direction of humanity with global warming it's pretty interesting.

The release of The Elder Scrolls 6 and GTA 6.
It's been so damn long since Skyrim was released! I wish I had a good computer to play it.

As for me, I'm looking forward to the release of The Expanse's last season. Beyond that, I try not to get my hopes up. When I do just that, I hope to someday be mostly free of my chronic pain issue. Without insurance, my options in the US are limited. I'm trying hard now to do what I can at home. I just hope I don't hurt myself further.

Before the pandemic I used to plan a fun activity every Sat so I would have something to look forward to. I didn't realize how much I relied on that. After the pandemic things really went downhill for me. It's never been this bad before. I'm really doing my best to recover but it's been a struggle.

I'm not really looking forward to anything big, really. I guess I'd like to see the election results (Germany). I did vote after all. Oh, and maybe, this is more frivolous, I'd kind of like to see the current event in Genshin Impact to its end. I can't say that that's stopping me from ctb but it's something welcome that makes it somewhat worthwhile before I manage to do it. Oh, and I really wish I could look forward to talking to my best friend again, that always brightened every day when I could do it. But that's clearly not happening and I'm not opening that can of worms.
