I guess part of staying alive is to have something to look forward to. It's like you know there's something in the future you don't want to miss out on.
Before I became chronically ill I used to spent a lot of time on planning travels abroad and were pretty excited to go with my backpack to discover other cultures, try different food and see the beauty of nature. Nowadays just the thought of travelling is exhausting and I don't have the strength to go on longer vacation like I used to do.
Since I've been interested in sports the most of my life (and played on high level myself) I used to look forward to big events like World/European Cup and The Olympics. I think it can still be exiting if my own country is doing good, but when you have seen these events many times you know it's just the same over again with different outcomes and a few days/weeks later it's almost forgotten.
I've also been very interested in AI (Artificial Intelligence). I think it's both interesting and scary what can be done with this kind of technology. If it turns out good then it probably change the world for the better. If not then it might end the human race. Some experts says Super Intelligence is just a few decades away. If it happens then it might be the most important event in human history and somehow I don't want to miss out on it.
So what are you looking forward to in the future?
