It should work as the antiemetic. I would wait until the medication is in full effect before CTBing with it tho, just to be sure.

I have no clue about this, but I would say, as 8 hours of fasting from eating anything is recommended before the SN, I presume cleansing your body of any other chemicals would also ensure a more effective usage of SN.

This being said... if you are receiving a dose of such medication, it means you have a medical condition. This being the case, know that medications are extremely powerful, and many have changed their lives thanks to them. I would reccomend you, with all my heart, to clean your mind of such suicidal thoughts, and to hide your SN away from your eyes for now. Give the medication a chance, an honest chance, focus your mind on that hope that it'll help you to see the light at the end of this tunnel.

If it all fails, SN will always be there for you, and we will be here, supporting you each step of the way, whichever decision you take, whichever path you decide to go for.

Best of luck my friend, and I am certain that, whatever decision you take, you'll find peace.

I see, and am glad that you are willing to give life a chance. That being said, I wouldn't make such timely plans for this. I understand your reasons, putting a timeframe to this decision helps you assert your control over your life... but I am concerned that then, you ain't fully giving this medication a chance, but rather just impatiently waiting for it to fail so you can end it all. Don't think about time, don't set a date for you to continue with your ctb, otherwise you simply look at this as postponing what is inevitable. Let go of any ideas you had of giving up on life, truly free yourself from them, and give this medication a real chance, put all your hopes on it.
If it fails, after you have given it a true chance... then, as I said, we'll support you on your decision.

Best of luck.

I'm really grateful for your kind words, but I get the quetiapine because I want to ctb with SN. It was more easy to me get this med than meto, it's just part of the plan.

Wait 2 weeks, as mentioned. You are clear on the AE front. Sorry to hear you're finalizing your ctb, but obviously completely understandable

This is an unknown and somewhat contentious topic on the board, for which I should take some credit/blame.

My own opinion, supported after finding one of the few references to Quetiapine dosage and antiemetic effects is in this thread. Please read it (and expand and read all of the quoted posts within it) in its entirety.

Whether the antiemetic dosage is 50mg as some suggest, or is 300mg+ as I suggest, either way the need to wait for levels of the drug to build up from regular dosage seems to be a definite requirement.

On the low dosage you are taking, presumably it was prescribed for anxiety and/or insomnia? Ask your doctor roughly how long it should take to start working (number of days/weeks), and that will give you an idea of how soon any antiemetic effects will also take to develop.

EDIT: Additionally, if you came to believe that 300mg+ was required for antiemetic effects, and made the decision to raise your dosage to this level, you would need to do so gradually. Going from zero or 50mg straight to 300mg+ would definitely not be wise and would increase both the likelihood and severity of side effects.

EDIT: Guide to dose titration (gradual adjustment) is here.
