A report (in English) from DW (German based "Deutsche Welle" journal) on the current economy in America—specifically the homeless situation.

The report, being from Europe, which naturally hates Trump is going to say it's Trump's fault. Personally I think it's beyond a political solution—this has been going on since Obama as well, and even before him.

I see this being one of the the catalysts for the breakup of the union (i e. The current USA as we know it), along with the demographic changes transpiring, prompting America to disband and become 5, 6 or 7 separate nation states. The time frame I expect to see this happen is within 50 years. Being on skid row must have it's own stresses which makes the mere waking up every morning an arduous task.

I dunno how these homeless guys do it...I have so much respect for them. I'd prob kms on day 1 or 2 of homelessness.

And yes this was a problem long before Trump took office.

I know a guy who is living in Europe, and he told me that at one point in his life he "slept rough" for three nights and that was more than enough for him. He was very close to committing some petty crime so as to get thrown in jail, which at least would result in giving him shelter.

Was homeless for 3yrs, just a decade ago. It really is rough as all hell and yes, the problem has been around for a very long time. Them putting political spins on it is because of this huge push to impeach Trump and due to upcoming elections. None of them care about the homeless and none of them attempt to solve it. Everyone seems to still enjoy, even now, calling them a 'problem'. Nevermind the fact that a lot didn't ask to be put into that situation nor did they do anything to warrant it. Sure, you have your addicts, criminals and whatnot, but there are many that were once successful and fell on hard times, many that lost their homes in disasters such as the various wildfires, military.....list truly goes on. It's not the best place to be, at all, but sometimes, there is just nothing else and no one is willing to help unless they can benefit from it. It's sickening how a human being is treated, in a country where 'equality' is supposed to exist.

All your points are spot-on correct—the political spin especially so. In some cities in America you can see young gen-z and millennials hanging out at the local bars / pubs having a good time, virtue signalling with their friends, while homeless are clearly within close proximity and in plain view.

Thank you btw for your willingness to disclose your homeless situation from some years ago. If you do not mind my asking, what got you through that chapter in your life? 3 months would be bad enough, but 3 years? Damn....

My ex-wife, before she pulled a bunch of shit, before we lost a child and before she left me right back in the same situation for a couple of months. Managed to pull out of it all, but honestly, think I was more in autopilot the majority of the experience.
