I watched Naruto, but gave up like 2/3 of the way. Aside from that I watched Fullmetal Alchemist, Hellsing, the first season of Fist of the North Star and that's pretty much it. I've got a few more anime series I wanna watch, but couldn't be bothered so far

I mean, ultimately they're just cartoons with many different genres and styles. I can see why anime can be off-putting, especially due to the fanbase of a lot of them, but I think there's probably some shows you might enjoy.

I did watch Pokemon and Digimon as a kid. I did watch the Digimon reboot that just happended. Of course I'm older now. I actually don't really watch anime.

@Miss clefable has a list that overlaps a lot with mine, so I'll just add Makoto Shinkai's movies, Satoshi Kon's Paprika, Usagi Drop, Shigatsu Wa Kimi No Uso and The Tatami Galaxy. (All of these being cases where I believe that if there are multiple versions, the anime is the one worth watching.)
