Dignity is highly subjective and cultural. What some people view as tolerable dignity wise others dont. In middle eastern cultures for example, people brag about their kids taking care of them at old age and sickness including bathing them, feeding them, wiping their butts…etc. it is supposed to be a badge of honor for the elder and their offspring to experience this type of role reversal which a good thing I guess as opposed to leave them in senior homes where strangers do all whats necessary out of professional obligation rather than familial love and duty.
