Would you rather know your entire future and be forced to live it regardless of what happens... or... not know your future and free to end it whenever you want?

I'd rather know and be forced to live it out. The latter is the option we all have now. I am more anxious about the unknown than I am about being in control. So I would rather know and take the pressure off my mind. I'd just live my life as it comes. Part of my own depression is what is going to happen in the future. Most likely nothing good in my case. But I feel like maybe there is hope at a semi-decent life. Fingers crossed.

I think with experience some people can guess future pretty well. Go find a gypsy she will tell you your future lol. Given an event (a guess) we immediately try to predict its probability. It gets harder to predict complex conditional probabilities because of .. see below.
The problem comes with guessing the details (particular events) of the future.

To your question, would you rather know or not know your future.
Unknown gives hope which is better than no hope at all. Most people would choose hope, including myself.
So, not to know my future is my answer.

That would be so fucking boring

If I was forced to know the future I would CTB. That absolutely kills all the fun in life

The funnest part in life is managing and planning around uncertainties. Recently the scumbag president of the UAE died. I had no idea I would outlive him. But the fact that probably about right now some Muslim bitches are wailing into his casket and throwing sand onto it is fucking awesome . There is nothing they can do to make his heart beat again- he's simply gone. If I had known all of this in advance it would ruin the rush I get when I see the obituary roll in

That was kind of a trick question actually... because the second option is what everyone in here who wants to ctb already has. You don't know what is going to happen and yet you still want to ctb. So it doesn't matter which on you chose. And what if your future IS to ctb. That also gives some peace of mind, no?

The only certainty is death ☠️

I will still want to CTB no matter what happens because I want to avoid old age. The only question is when

Can I propose a third option? Can I know my future AND be able to ctb if I don't like the look of it? 😉

Of course I would choose the second option. I need the ability to be able to end my existence, suicide is a human right. My future could only ever be overwhelming and unbearable misery and having to be forced to endure that sounds so horrifying. Forcing people to live until old age against their wishes is extremely cruel.
