Hi everyone

I just want to mention than English isn't my first language and so I hope you excuse my bad grammar.

I have chosen partial hanging as my main method but I struggle to find a way to experiment with it. I have a small robe that I tried to strangulate myself with by using my hands. I basically placed the rope around my adam apple and pulled the two ends of the rope as hard as I could, to the point my fingers started hurting from pulling, but nothing happend. I didn't use a knot as I was basically experimenting to see if I can make myself faint. The shape was more like the small letter alpha with my nick in the middle, if that makes sense. All I felt was an intense pressure in my head, like it's about to explode. My tongue also stuck out a little. I kept pulling hard for about 10s but nothing happened.

Note: I did thus while lying on my bed.

I feel this way is the best for me as I seem to have a weak SI when it comes to hanging. In fact, when I felt the pressure in my head and my tongue stuck out I just kept going without fear. SI starts kicking after the first 10s. I want to know if there is a way to make myself faint from this within 5s or so.

Trying to pull the cord manually didn't work for me... Throw the thing over something, hold the other end in your hand, and lean into it with full force. Don't try to 'figure out' how much pressure is needed, that won't work. You need to go at it with full force, with your full weight. If the robe is thick enough, this shouldn't be painful. Also, try putting it above your adam's apple, not over or below it. Make sure there are no sharp objects around in case you pass out.

What kind of knot should I use for this?

I'm not sure. I tried it with a belt and pulled it through the buckle. But people here say a 'slip knot' works well. If you practice, be careful with knots because if it tightens and gets stuck, you'll die.

If you don't mind me asking, how did you feel prior to fainting? And how long did it take to happen?

Vision blacking out, all kinds of physical feelings go away. Sort of falling into a dreamless sleep-like, unconscious state. It happens quite quickly, about 5 seconds I would say. Then, the next thing I notice is that vision is slowly coming back and I can barely stand. I need to sit down on the floor in order not to fall. Then comes a weird euphoria-like feeling that lasts a couple of minutes.

I don't feel any pain or 'throbbing in the head'. I used to, but the trick for me was to learn that I needed to really lean into it with full force, without hesitation, neck muscles relaxed. Now I just black out quickly.

This is very informative, I appreciate that.
