Discussion Alternative CO method

I've been thinking a lot recently about CTB by CO (seems least painful i guess?)

I don't want to light a BBQ in the bathroom for fear of a fire and a tent comes with too high a chance of failure e.g melting the tent or the membrane of the tent not sufficiently holding in the CO.

I was thinking...what about a wooden box?

Some plywood, gorilla glue and sealant for the seams. All you would need to do is have a hole just big enough for your head and put a disposable BBQ or two at the other end. Lie down and pop your head in.

I cant imagine it would get hot enough to combust and it would be a very small space in which to build up CO.

Sorry if this is the dumbest thing ever but anybody have any thoughts?

Curious how it would be easier? Obtaining an N2 canister from a suspicious merchant, gettin the correct valve, rigging up the correct airflow, making sure of a tight seal around the neck. Also, am I correct in saying they put O2 in canisters of N2 and helium now to stop people from CTB or did I just make that up lol?

Suspicious merchant? Nitrogen is bought on a daily by welders on 100% legal stores.

Just any Nitrogen regulator.

The optimal flow rate (15 LPM) has been know and tested experimentally for decades.

making sure of a tight seal around the neck.

The neck fit is never sealed, it needs a gap for CO₂ purging.

Also, am I correct in saying they put O2 in canisters of N2 and helium now to stop people from CTB or did I just make that up lol?

That only happens on balloon Helium. If inert gases were mixed they would be useless for their real uses.

Since you are a novice on the matter I suggest you to check the PPeH and PPH Essentials.

A better method is N2 with bag/EEBD hood/SCBA. It can be expensive but with the right material and correct execution it is by far the best alternative.
