He is a suicide specialist. He is very kind and tells me hes invested in me but I know Im not going to get better .. Ive been suicidal and depressed for the last half of my life and Im pretty set im my ways. He would only have me pay $20 instead of his usual $180 just because he didnt want money to be a hinderence for me. I think he deserves a goodbye instead of a no call no show...his nephew died by suicide, and he had a previous client die by suicide. He literally teared up when he told me this. I dont want him to find out when I die, so I plan to end therapy on my next session on Tuesday. Any tips on how to do this? He knows my suicidal thoughts have been getting worse recently

I don't know your life situation but if you need an excuse for quitting therapy you can say that your moving away for family/work/school/whatever and then let him know how much you've appreciated what he's done for you.

I almost thought about telling him that I want to give up, but emphasing to him that giving up on getting better does not = suicide. I mean it does in my case..but he dont have to know that lol. Your way seems to have less room for fight back though, which is good!

180 an hour. Dam that's the job 10am to 12 listen to two people, nod head a bit and say..mmm so how did that make you feel? 32 times....then at midday off down the guitar shop for a fender mexican strat, maple fretboard, candy apple red, 09 strings then off home for a play.
Don't forget the student debt.

I'm not sure. My therapist knows my plan and is supportive and have no desire to stop me.
Maybe be honest if you want him to understand.
Or make an excuse not to go and then send a delayed email.

I actually did this this past week with my therapist. I told her I had kept the appointment (I had canceled my previous one) to gain a sense of closure and that I would not be coming back....that I was just tired and done. Looking back it was probably risky but it worked out.

Dubs no idea but I've been put in mental health and they said if you want to kill yourself that's your choice no ones going to stop me. This is Australia and I'm pretty certain the government truly want me dead so all good.

I've complained to much about human rights.
And the public mental health service has told me to kill myself.

damn. Blunt but probably true.
Better to let her know now than for her plans to get foiled later on. Failed attempts can have very dire consequences,as I'm sure we're all aware.

I remember seeing an article about a teenager making a failed attempt and resulted in complete paralysis(but retaining sentience). His mother keeps him alive, and once asked him whether he'd still like to die. (1 blink = no. 2 blinks = yes)
The man blinked twice, and the selfish parent still forces him to keep on living. A truly powerless and hopeless situation we'd all like to avoid.

Your therapist seems really nice.
I never tell anyone what I truly feel because if I would say it to some therapist or something, I would probably get sectioned immediately.

that's disturbing how someone can be so selfish.

He sounds like a nice therapist, you might want to give it another try.
you can pretend that you've become better, leave on good note, then ctb.
sending a mail for appreciating his effort before you ctb is also good.
anything you do will hurt him cause he's going to blame himself for not seeing it.
moving away without any change in your health condition = ctb. therapist can see that and will ask you some questions.

Indeed. Not only does her selfishness cause someone prolonged unnecessary suffering, but there is literally nothing beneficial about it. How the hell is an almost entirely paralyzed person going to properly bond with anyone?

What would you do or say if the therapist sees through you.If suicide is their speciality they will be aware of what people say prior to suicide.he sounds like a nice man but will have a duty of care and may report you and your plan will be compromised.I would carefully think this through.I was too honest with my psychiatrist and just got admitted onto a psy ward for 3 weeks.

You could probably lay off suspicion by asking for their phone number just in case times get tough after you've ended your sessions with them.
