Hey guys! Since taking alprazolam at nights before sleep my mood has gone way better the next day and i have nearly zero suicidal thoughts. I even laugh and go exercising and joke around.

Maybe this can help anyone that doesn't see any solution anymore.

Just my two cents

In my experience, drugs like that are just a temporary band-aid (though they do feel good). Ultimately, taking alprazolam didn't fix any of my problems. But to be totally honest, I'd take one right now if I had it.

That's pretty much it. I take 4 meds per day and when I decided to stop taking after 3 days I was feeling shit and now I'm back to "ok status"

Yeah I believe that. Is just a little temporary help, nothing more.

The xanax is nice at first, but the good effects wear off...and you need more.

The xans really will betray you?

ive been taking benzo for a long time. eventually your body will get use to it and it will hit tolerance.
meaning you will need more to get the same effect. having said that if its helping you then dont stop taking it. just be mindful of the long term effects it has on your body. consult with your doctor.

Then try to get over her. Don't kill yourself for someone you don't depend on financially or emotionally.
Read books about how to get over a relationship, if you like flirting , go out, have some time with a friend that you really like and it's mutual, enjoy nature, if you live next to a beach, enjoy the view. Do whatever thing gets you distracted of your girlfriend. Just live your life, don't throw 8 years of studying and your job, the lifestyle you have achieved for someone, down the toilet. I know for you she is more than that, bit if you are not on a short time breakup right now, maybe she is not for you. And it's hard, but your mind , your mental state is more valuable than anything in the world. Try to contemplate the beauty in the things around you. And try not to think of her too much.

Hugs.

I'm just saying this to make you realize you have a lot of things to have love for, starting by you.

I'm a regular Xanax user and yes I agree it definitely helps but sadly for me it was only temporarily. Tolerance gets built quickly and now I take benzos just to avoid the withdrawal. I have tried slow tapers and tolerance breaks but I just go back to daily use but for anyone that has the will to try taking tolerance breaks and using as needed can be helpful.

My idiot dr left me on Valium too long and then put me on Xanax and it doesn't work that way, only Xanax to Valium. Went through wicked ass withdrawals that possibly never fully went fully away. I'm glad they are giving you some relief though
Peace/hugs

If someone had been taking Xanax or any benzo daily you taper off then stop taking them for a couple weeks before you take them again. Since tolerance to Xanax or any benzo builds quickly taking a break from them will reset the tolerance (it worked for me personally) Ideally it's better to only use benzos as needed to avoid tolerance but I am so addicted to them from years use I just take them now to avoid withdrawal.

It can be helpful if used only on rare occasions. It begins working rapidly and is strong even at low doses. But It's a wolf dressed in a poorly made sheep's costume. I, unfortunately take it once a day; have for years (which is a problem). For several years, 1mg at bedtime helped. But it has a very short half life. 90% of the primary "therapeutic benefits" of a dose of Xanax occurs in the first 60min, and blood levels of alprazolam decrease dramatically 6hrs post dose. I wish I never took this long term.
