Hi. I hope you guys are doing well.
I wanted to know what you guys like to drink? Do you usually drink at home? In your case, what is the best drink to keep you drunk (without passing out, just keeping that sensation of lightness and dizziness)?
I don't usually drink, but I've been longing that sensation of being drunk a bit. I'd like something that I can be drinking throughout the day in small portions. Like some kind of cocktail.
I'd be greatful to read your suggestions.

I don't know much about cocktails and I don't usually stay buzzed, but I like beer & ciders! They vary in ABV (alcohol by volume), so you can experiment with what ABV will work for you. There's are sessions beers, which have low ABV, and barley wines, which have high ABV, and everything inbetween. Also, they range from bitter to sweet (see IBU (International Bittering Unit)), so you can try all kinds to find ones to your own liking. There are flavors too, like right now I'm drinking a Coconut Milk Stout. Mmmm. Additionally, because they usually don't have as much ABV as wines or cocktails, you can drink throughout the day--but don't drink & drive as it's still easy to go above the BAC. And I think you still need to drink water though to avoid dehydration. IMHO, you don't need to research all the craft beer details; at this point, you can look for ABV and IBU and shop around or do flights (ordering a set of small sizes).

Disclaimer: but I don't know if this could lead to alcoholism. In my case, alcohol isn't my problem. It's my solution! YMMV

I like dark liqour too. I drink Captain Morgan if I'm going cheap. Makers mark, Knob Creek, or Gentleman Jack are my preferred tastes.

Disclaimer: I am promoting and encouraging alcoholism as it's fun as shit and a great cope :pfff:

I can't stand the spiced stuff. I find Captain Morgans too sweet, I tend to buy supermarket own brand,
Are you still trying to cut back on your drinking?

Yea I've cut back but I haven't quit entirely yet. I dunno if I will quit honestly. It's fine as long as I keep a handle (hehe) on it.

Wow. Thank you. That was very informative, and that beverage of yours doesn't sound half bad.
I think I'm interested in something sweet, but something a little bitter could be good too. Thank you once again, and cheers!

My bad. I usually use the search function but I think this time just slipped. I better check on that thread.
Rum sounds good to me, but I haven't had much opportunities to drink it, so I will follow your advice.
I worry too about bad habits, and I won't say I'm immune, so I will be careful. Thank you for your help and concern.

Lmao. Though I'm not sure we have all those brands in my country (probably we do, I'm just not a regular consumer to be aware). Thank you for all those suggestions!

I got drunk lastnight even though it wasn't my intention. I have a hard time stopping once I start.

I you want something you can drink throughout the day in small portions I suggest scotch and soda. Then you can make it as strong or weak as you like.

I used to drink heavily for many years. Straight vodka, about a half a fifth a night. I'm sober now and more miserable than I've ever been. I wouldn't recommend drinking, as I believe it is partly responsible for ruining my brain for the rest of my life, but I also would not recommend stopping if you are already an alcoholic

Vodka is my go to, but recently I have been drinking a lot more beer. I feel it is easier for me to stop since I see few empty bottles of beer instead of half bottle of vodka.

Or a really good old fashioned.

ooh. i like this thread.

i really like hard liquor and sugary shit. weird contrast, eh? i can take shots of vodka without a chaser or down a few smirnoff ices and be totally content.

not into beer or wine, though. never was.

btw, if you're american and you haven't tried four loko yet, do it. just make sure you're sharing it with a group of people or you'll literally black out (unless you want to do that). i shared a single can of the stuff with eight other people and we all got absolutely bombed. i can barely remember that night.

Thank you so much! A whisky is always nice, and really refreshing when in scotch and soda.

Alcoholism is no joke, that's why I treat alcohol with due respect. I'm not a frequent consumer of alcohol, quite the opposite. However, there are few times where I crave a little of its effects or more rarely, the flavor. Creating a dependency to it is usually an imperceptable ocurrence, that's why is hard to recognize when we have a problem. I'll try to be as conservative as posible in my ingest of alcohol. Thank you.

I'm not usually a vodka person, but!... I surely enjoy it when served with juice. It could be a sweet treat.

I've never tried jägermeister, and it looks like it's popular out there. Also, it looks kinda strong, hah, but it got my curiosity.

Idk man, I've heard some hardcore stories about four loko, hahah. I'd go for something more chill.

Back when I drank, it was all cheap rosé or red wine mixed up with colas, or white and the cheapest energy drinks available. I got into mixing vermouth with st johns wort tea at a certain point as well. As far as actually good drinks though, my favorite was either a coffee or chocolate liqueur with cream. Low in alcohol, but really, really, tasty.

Oof. I like how all that sounds. I'm not an alcohol person but I sure am a coffee person. Interesting suggestions.

Ahh damn, i'm slowly giving in to alcohol. it's the only thing that kinda makes me feel better. i only drink at home since I wouldn't feel safe drinking anywhere else outside. I started with champagne, then wine, then changed to vodka and now i'm into brandy. I like all these four but so far brandy is my fave. Either plum or pear brandy. Drinking while playing my fav game is the only time when I feel kinda better.

I'm pretty boring, I stick to the same drinks. I drink cask ale if I'm out for the night and want to remain on a level, and if I'm on shorts at home, it's Southern Comfort, which gets me drunk but never too drunk, and doesn't give me a hangover unlike Vodka, Whiskey, Jager etc used to.

In my 20s I'd drink anything, usually Bud/Becks/Metz and Aftershocks, Ouzo or Sambuca to get wasted. I've found I can't keep a lot of alcohol down now, I only have to take a sip of Vodka and I'm nauseous, I've been sick 30 seconds after drinking Vodka, and I went over a decade never being sick from alcohol, even when obliterated. Ciders the same, makes me vomit, as does Brandy. It's peculiar, I could drink for England at one point, now the slightest taste of some booze makes me wretch.

Wine has always given me a headache, so I can't even pretend to be sophisticated in my middle age.
