  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

I've read a lot of posts here about what people think will happen after you CTB. My answer to that question changes every day, to be honest. It depends on my mood, whether I have particularly high hopes that day, or whether my guilt toward my family makes me briefly doubt my own disbelief in the existence of hell lol.

I think I'm writing this mostly because I want to share my favorite quote from one of my favorite people, Anthony Bourdain: "I'm certain of nothing. I'm not even sure I'm certain of that."

Extreme Pain is much worse than people know

a human is only the particular brain in a particulare body . i'm only this brain and body . i can only look through my eyes. everywhere i go there i am i can't escape this brain or body as long as my brain is alive. 1 nanosecond after the brain dies it can never create conssiousness or sentience or thinking again ever . imo the brain creates the illusion there is a viewer viewing the world and suffering pain. the brain is only brain cells .and these brain cells are connected into neural networks. these neural networks create a software simulation of that viewer. that's all there is a brain and software running on a brain. after the brain dies that horrible simulation of pain can never run again .

this can be tested hundreds of times per day. everytime you look only from your point of view. you can't see out of someone else's brain or point of view. what's happening is your eyes and senses are connected to your brain by nerves. the eyes send light signals to the brain and the brain makes sense of those light signals.

this video shows a fly neuron ( brain cell) is exactly the same as a human brain cell

I personally believe in an infinite divine reintegration with the cosmos. Sort of a kaleidoscope of nirvana expanding through time and space.

Either eternal oblivion, merging with a greater consciousness, or reincarnation.
I've really been studying this stuff for awhile to try and come to a conclusion that makes sense to me and I do think there is at least a slight variation depending on mental state.

As a Christian physicalist (who rejects the (mis)interpretation of a "soul") I totally agree with this, except that there will be a resurrection at the end of the world where these brains will be recreated together with the rest of the bodies. But until then, no afterlife. Just death in the dust.

Interesting video link.

Relatable. We don't know anything. I am hoping that whatever happens, I find it peaceful.

One feeling I have though is that it's either an eternity of sleep, or one day we are birthed once again, from a mother and father, human or not.

But, eternity is a long time. Can even death last forever?

Once all life ceases to exist, so does the universe. Consciousness is existence. Without a perceiver, it might as well not exist. That is how I feel.

that is actually an amazing quote, i haven't heard this one before. i relate really hard to your post, my idea has constantly changed about what happens after ctb. i guess my genuine hope no matter what it is, is that it is in fact eternal peace/rest, whatever that may look like
