Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

I posted about my Home situation (<- TW:NSFW)
I don't plan on leaving soon, but I will.

I'd appreciate any advice on moving out and how it's like living with a roommate (how to even find one). Money will be a problem, which is why I want a roommate. Another reason is because of my mental issues I don't trust myself living alone at all.

Does anyone else here lived or lives with a roommate? How is it like? What should I know? What do I need to look out for? How can I find a fitting roommate? How can I find a good apartment? General advice?

(I live in Austria, if that matters)
Thanks!<3

hey!

i found my roommate on a facebook group. honestly, i got very lucky. she is the best and most caring person ever. but yeah living with someone else seeing your depression room, stinky self, not eating, not leaving your bed, etc. you def have to be upfront about how you feel and be good at communicating. i did not help clean for a month but my roommate was ok with it because she understands what i go through. beng vulnerable in that way is hard but it feels good to have support

I've lived with quite a few people over the years. Some good, some bad. It's a good lesson in... tolerance šŸ˜‚ They say you don't truly know someone until you live with them, which is true in a sense. It's really hard to say how to pick a good housemate because it'll depend on your personality and needs, and also because sometimes you think you wouldn't mind living with someone and then they end up being a bad housemate. It can all be part of the process, unfortunately.

In the past, I've found it helpful to consider my own wants and needs (both for housemates and property), and what I am/am not willing to compromise on. Being clear about what you're looking for will help you to identify if something is a good fit, and it'll help others identify if you're a good fit too.

You can use sites like Facebook to find places, or specific sites for finding house shares (I'm not Austrian so don't know what's available to you!).
