Cake or Death?

Hi everyone,

I plan on jumping from a cliff pretty soon. What advice do you have to fight that survival instinct? My current plan is to have a couple of drinks, listen to my favourite songs and then take a running jump. Current plan is to spend the next week and two days enjoying my life. Booked a lovely hotel and plan to go sightseeing, read my favourite books and eat all my favourite foods. I just know that even though I am certain that I want to die that in that moment the survival instinct will try to keep me alive. Any advice on how to fight that? Sorry if this has been asked a million times before.

It's a shame there's isn't a button that could be pressed to end it all. That would make all this so much easier.

Thanks,

Al

I plan to soon aswell. One thing i've found after standing close to the edge a couple of times already, is that the spot where I've been is quite windy primarily due to being a cliff on the coastline, but a bit also due to height. I feel like this a factor that contributes the SI. Also the sound of crashing waves on the cliff side too. My thinking is to use a blindfold, ear plugs of somekind or a cloth around my ears, and get drunk enough to feel tipsy

If you intend to jump on water that might not be such a good idea. Best chances (>99%) are on solid ground with no obstructions, however small.

How about wearing headphones to get over the sound?

I kinda gave up on jumping personally since I'd prefer not to be terrified in my last moments (a high enough drop will give one quite some time to deliberate what they just did) but if I decide on it I will have to be on pills + alcohol.

Maybe even a blindfold or something else to cover the head. If you don't look down while standing at a cliff it's not so bad, right?

My spot is rocky at the bottom so not into clear water. And yep blindfold, earplugs/phones. Honestly I do feel like jumping is one of the more difficult methods for SI to be overcome, due to its nature of engaging all of your senses (except taste). Especially on a cliff near the coast where you are surrounded by nature. Its also a method where once you commit to it i.e. fall off the edge, its out of your hands, which makes that initial jump/leap/fall difficult. So I'm thinking of ways to make that initial commitment easier by dulling the senses as much as possible.

I had an idea but I don't know if there's any place where you can execute it.. How about sleeping right at a cliff pumped full with sedatives?
It would require a straight drop though. I have seen few really straight drops, most require jumping at least a little bit away.
And of course a remote place where nobody will find you

Yea that's a good idea, but what sort of sedatives like that are accessible? I dont know of any. Or maybe other ways of passing out/fainting near the edge like the choking game. Alcohol seems reasonable enough though

Even with alcohol youre adrenaline will be too high knowing you're going to die soon

I don't drink alcohol but people routinely pass out on it. I was thinking about pills like Diazepam. They are more accessible via doctors, or even the "deepweb" since they're also used recreationally.
