I tried to OD on hydrocodone (plus assorted accessories, including meto) despite it being widely known as a highly ineffective method, I also ended up committed after my first Rx OD attempt just earlier this month, so you'd think I'd have learned, but nay.

I puked up most of what I'd taken (yes, even with the antiemetic regimen) and my folks didn't want me committed so they just took care of me at home. However, I've now ended up in the hospital anyways with a small assortment of fun issues, namely that one foot and lower leg have gone completely numb, and it takes me about 20 minutes to successfully initiate a stream of urine,

All this to say, be careful when you're planning an OD. Honestly, ending up physically fine and stuck bullshitting your way to freedom out of a psych ward is the best case scenario. Drugs can have some strange interactions and effects, and you never know what ridiculous shit you're putting yourself through til it's too late. When I woke up from my last attempt, I thought I'd spend the week at home just recovering, dealing with my upset parents, and planning my next (and hopefully final) attempt. Instead I'm trapped in a hospital, unable to get up to use the bathroom without a nurse's permission and just racking up medical bills to fix my leg so I'm fully mobile and able to successfully kill myself.

Just stick to well researched methods like N or SN. Attempt if you really want to die. Not under impulse but rationally asses your situation to see if your life is really over.

Yup, and the most important advice I can give is that if you really do want to die, it's worth it to order things and wait for them to come in!!

I wanted to CTB so bad I relied on what I already had on hand, rather than ordering SN and just waiting like a week for the damn package. Now I'll be waiting even longer to get my shit back together anyways so I should've just ordered the SN and been patient in the first place.

Hugs Hun I'm so sorry
I hope you recover fast and that the retention and your leg gets better soon. Been there before it's horrible. You'll be out soon but for now just focus on keeping your energy up. I know I sound like a mother hen here but make sure you eat and drink plenty because it will help you recover and keep your energy up. At least, recover enough to probably get home sooner

You're so sweet, thank you. Yeah I'm taking it easy for now. I won't be rushing into another attempt just yet, that's for sure.

What a thing - I'm so sorry, for both you and your parents who wanted to keep you from being institutionalized. (((Hugs for everybody)))

What have you told the doctors about what led to your neurological mishap? What are they saying about your state and your prognosis?

Do as our lovely @Jen0804 advises, and don't beat yourself up too much, ok? Things go wrong on the way out. Thank you for reminding us all that we need to research carefully. Feel better as soon as you can.

ODs suck balls.
Some issues I got after massive overdoses: nystasgmus, uncontrollable vomiting for days, hallucinations, neuropathy in my feet, hands and face, heart palpitations, white flashes before my eyes, blood sugar of 500 mg/l and many moar. Bonus points for being treated like an attention whore by the system.
Nah, Ill just go jump off a bridge and if I fail to do this Ill cook up a fat shot of fent.

Thank you for your kindness and support.

My first attempt was in another city and I was kept in an entirely different hospital chain, so fortunately this one has no record of my previous attempt. I did tell the staff here that I deliberately took an overdose, but downplayed the amount and told them that I changed my mind and made myself vomit it up deliberately. I'm lucky that they bought my story and believe that I've no intentions of harming myself.

They're running various tests and scans to figure out what the issue could be. There's a chance it could just be a compressed nerve from me laying funny while I was passed out from the OD, but they're doing an MRI soon to rule out a stroke (extremely unlikely).

What antiemetic regime did you use?
Does anyone know if vomitting with N is less likely because it's more likely to shut your brain down faster?

Right. If any tiny part of you hopes that you'll be saved at the last moment or that you'll fail, then it's probably not a good idea to attempt CTB.

Meto will just empty your stomach faster, and make sure N is absorbed quicker. Do not eat anything 12 hours prior to taking N, you can have a small piece of toast, and that's it.

I took 10 mg meto every 8 hours for 4 doses, and added a 20 mg dose two hours before my attempt, so basically a half assed version of the 48hr regimen that's widely recommended. Didn't have any reaction to the meto so I thought it was fine. Haste makes waste, yall.

Half-assed as in you didn't do the ahead for a long enough and the 20 mg was 2 hours before?
I'm getting nervous about my attempt :(

They took hydrocodone which is difficult to overdose on. You have N which will put you out rather quickly, all that you have to manage is not puke while you're still conscious. You can't vomit when you're braindead.

sorry that sucks. hate psych wards, waste of time and they are horrible. yea I took paracetamol od etc before and that's a waste of time. it wont work and worst case you'll end up with liver damage. it takes to long. oxycodone etc can cause urinary retention. plus so can kidney damage.

if you are going to OD I think you need to be sure its something decent and not half hearted (not saying that's you, more talking about myself and some people). Need something that will definitely work (and id say immediately not days later!) else its a waste of time and just ending up with months in a psych ward.

hope you get out soon. hate people watching me. just act like your better, to get out.

Yeah, I didn't do the full 48 hr regimen of meto. Also, as others have said, trying to OD on hydrocodone is a long shot to say the least. If you follow the instructions to carry out a N OD properly, you should be successful.

I am planning to take 3N, should I just follow the standard 48 hr regime? 1x 10mg pill/3 times a day, for two days. Then one hour prior do a stat dose of 30mg just to be on the safe side?

Wish I could help, friend, but I'm afraid I'm not particularly knowledgeable on the subject. All I know is what people on here say will work, and what I've learned from my own experience (none with N) doesn't work :(

Tried this before, I drank a lot of pills and only ended up puking so much acid, It didnt have any long term effect although vomiting acid was really annoying i wish I had taken more and maybe it wouldve killed me

I OD'd accidentally on sedatives (prescription and non) and woke up fine the next morning.

But I agree, you don't know how you'll react if you fail, (ideally you should research it) and likely don't care in the moment...

You have to combine opiate painkillers (codeine, morphine, oxycodone) with other CNS depressants like tranquillizers (zolpidem, diazepam, alprazolam- these two are benzos)

Simply taking opiates along doesn't do the job.
