I see you, cherylblossom. My own circumstances are superficially different, but I do understand what it's like to suffer needless torment in a world where there is, and can be, no justice.
When and if I ctb, it will probably be because of similar reasons. When you've basically been treated like an inanimate object that can scream, you may never feel like a real person ever again. You just kind of walk around like a corpse that hasn't fallen over yet.
I don't think that someone is utterly doomed to a life of emptiness and helpless rage because of a sexual assault, but if someone decides they want to survive, they are likely to need to spend some years rebuilding their personality and finding new reasons to live. It can be done, but I think it takes a special kind of gall to demand that of someone. If somebody's house burns down, you don't guilt-trip them into building a new house on the site, with no help except advice from professionals they don't really know and who charge high fees. If an assaulted person freely chooses recovery, that's all to the good. If not, don't destroy what little agency over their own bodies they still possess. I guarantee it will not make them feel better
Clear skies, friend. I hope you find peace.
