Judging by what is wrote in the article, yes. But of course I think there is much more to it, because I doubt the article has succeed at portraying the whole picture of her life experience. Maybe it's the shadow joy talking. "Heeheehee, she had it all and she died, so she doesn't have it anymore, heeheehee." But I doubt it again, because I managed to find beauty in almost every single suicide story so far.

I feel so bad for her that it got to such a bad place that she was so compelled to do that right in that moment. I don't know if it had to do with being up in the altitude of the flight mixed with her emotions already, but ugh she seemed like she had a lot going for her at age 19. I really hate when kids think they've come even close to "failing" at that kind of age or later.

It's a rough era in this Instagram/Facebook age where everyone is constantly comparing themselves.

I hope she found peace and that something better came for her. Mental illness is a tough battle for anyone, but especially for teens.

The universities don't really care, they still get paid, but you put some of the smartest (most neurotic) young people into a competitive pressure cooker without proper care and this is what you get.

Phew... Before reading the article I thought that she jumped from a large plane with a hundred passengers. Still, it was very irresponsible of her. She could've killed the other passenger and the pilot accidentally.

Yeah i was wondering why everyone was saying it was some sort of suicide. hearing and reading different things leads me to feel like it wasnt a suicide. Awful.

I suspect that big pharma will stop at almost nothing to extract as much profit as possible, sometimes even going against their own purpose, which is to save lives and what not. To them, it is like a minor inconvenience and they would likely just sweep it under the rug as isolated incident. The attitude is prevalent in capitalism such that they don't care about the person dying (as long as it is not via their own hands - suicide), and would virtue signal just to appear palatable to the masses.

But still the drug that can induce suicide and shut off rational thinking and survival instinct at the same time sound so far fetch. Its like some miracle drug use by assassin in movies. She did seem to have a history of depression, and the location of her jump aligned with the outlook of someone invested in studying natural sciences. Her body would be recycled naturally. But that competitive university environment is causing so many young people to be depressed. The fact that she struggled for so long to jump makes me question if medications were involved. Can you really fight SI for 5 minutes? Also, how reliable are the journalists? My cousin jumped off a bridge without anyone seeing it coming, but he didn't struggle against someone saving him for 5 minutes.

This is truly harrowing. Poor girl must have been going through some profound difficulties to make her do this. Feel for the witnesses and her family. Very sad

I believe wholeheartedly this was alot to do with the anti malaria medication as suggested by those around her in the preceding days. To fight to die that strongly in such an awful way; something was not right. There are many reports of severe mental health reactions to anti malaria drugs.

She was ill, they knew that. She reached to open the door, anyone seeing someone do that knows its for no good reason. and the poor lady was fairly older i believe and she tried held onto her leg until she gave up cause of exhaustion.

yeah its horrible, its apart of the expectations and norm of having this type of status quo in society. chasing and living the "american dream" and anything differing that is then a failure and you're looked at as a dilenquent. these expectations, its awful, they then lead to people trying to chase these expectations to ultimately submit and kill themselves or go super depressed, or abide by other means such as criminal activity, (drugs, stealing and theft, resulting in violence) to have another way at achieving this american dream.

heck, she was my age. its awful all around.
