A question regarding the "welfare checks" mentioned in PPH, in regards to SN

I recognize this is probably an incredibly stupid thing for me to ask, but better safe than sorry, ya know? Anyway, I was wondering if this is something I would need to be concerned about living in the USA. If I were to purchase some SN I found online, am I going to have to worry about the police showing up and confiscating it? I mean it's just a food preservative, and I'm not buying a large quantity of it. Just a single bag (1 pound/500 grams) has far more than what I need, but it's the smallest quantity I can find.

Needless to say, I have enough problems going on in my life as it is. I really don't need to add any kind of legal trouble to the mix. Is this safe for me to purchase?

sn isn't illegal to possess no, as for the cops, i'd assume that wouldn't happen but i can't say anything for certain. it's just a food preservative but its use as an agent for suicide has gotten more popular as more cases pile up. you should be fine though, i don't think a welfare check would happen.

So um, further examination of the bag revealed that it's actual contents are only 6% SN, and the rest of it is just table salt... I don't know a single thing about chemistry, so... is this stuff useless then? Does the protocol mentioned in the PPH require that it be 100% pure SN? Does such a thing even exist?

6% purity is useless, you need 97% or higher i believe, or maybe 95%

You purchased Prague powder #1 actually. Some other users made the same mistake. You need at least 97.5% pure nitrite.
When you'll have sent more posts (about 20 I think) you'll be entitled to send and receive private messages. So you may ask how to purchase real SN. It's against the SS rules to disclose that kind of information publicly.

Well, thankfully I caught it in the details before placing my order. I have fished around on some other websites trying to find pure stuff. But it's all been either out of my price range (requiring massive bulk orders worth several grand), requiring a registered business license, or some other obstacle. I'll do a little more digging I guess, and if I fail to find anything I will try to unlock DM's instead.

I purchased SN from CCS and from what I e read, it's only purity of >95%. I hope this won't a problem. I know from my lurking days that's a reputable source but maybe IC is better? I'm so chemically uninformed. Lol. It's great to have others in a community that are in same boat as me. Xo to u all

in my experience in the usa, the police only care if your trying to use a controlled or illegal substance to ctb. they may or may not press charges or take you to the mental hospital.

for other thingsd, unless someone suspects and reports you, youre prolly fine about welfare check, until youre missing.

From what I'm aware the welfare checks were a few years ago I think and it's when SN was still being sold either on eBay or Amazon. The police were showing up the people's front door who had ordered it I believed in the UK. I don't think it's happened recently.
