Last night while i was having a drink an ambulance stop by at our front door across the street. Apparently someone died and had to be picked up by emergency first responders. So being the person planning to CTB my curiosity was at max. About 15mins in, I saw the EMS carrying this man in blanket stiff and unresponsive. He was laid on the stretcher still stiff. Apparently after I asked the by-standers what happened this guy got bitten by a mosquito with dengue. Now this place is in-front of me is like a mini-shanty apartments with about 10-12 occupants floor-by-floor tenants. So this person neglected his fever and possibly suffered low-blood and succumbed to death. By his stature, he looks at about 25-29ish years of age and quite thin. Now by the gods, sometimes we do wish we could just simply wither away and die in our sleep. I hope he did not suffer the night. Further to the story, he was left undisturbed and unseen for 2 days. I wonder how long was he inside his apartment alone and dying. Life is crazy.

It's endlessly surprising how fragile and also how resilient life can be. I wish it wasn't a feature of many modern societies to hide death away so that we never have to see or deal with it. I think this makes us psychologically ill prepared whenever we do manage to see it.

That does not sound like a fun death. Rest in peace to him. Thank you for the story, it was interesting to read.

I got dengue a few years ago. It's a fever, and as is normal in the course of the illness, there was a moment of crisis when my life was in danger, but then I began to recover. I didn't suffer much, mainly I felt exhausted. Perhaps if it had gone the other way and I had actually died, I would have begun to suffer more, but based on what I experienced, my impression was that dying of dengue would be much like simply falling asleep forever.

At least now that person cannot suffer anymore, those who are free from this hellish world certainly are very fortunate, I always envy them.

My god !!same feeling I am having right now I got so jealous. When I hear news like plane crush I feel sorry for the victim but I can't help my envy I dream of being in their place. For me it's a blessing if death come of its own accord

Dengue was one of the worst feelings I ever got from a disease, I couldn't get out of bed, all my body was in pain, and I got headaches that felt like my head was gonna explode. Fever is awfuly high in degrees too
