Even if I have begun taking antidepressant medication and am finding it to actually be helping me ease some of the pain, a part of me will always inevitably hold on and cling to the miserable, negative, and depressive side of things (as a result and consequence of living in intense, chronic depression for all these years). It's deeply rooted and embedded in my identity. I don't care if I hypothetically ever "get better" (and stay that way), it will always be a part of me and I will always embrace that ever present side of me. It makes me see the world more differently with a set of more realistic eyes.
That being said, I bought this book, which is supposed to be satire to the original book title "14,000 Things to Be Happy About". I don't know about the original version, but THIS version definitely caught my eye. My plan was to go through it and even actually highlight (with highlighters) the things that truly DO personally make me feel miserable. Yeah, it will be fun.
