  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Imagine you could take a medication that prevents you of having suicidal thoughts. Nothing in your life/ health changes except that. You would never become suicidal again. You would become someone who says i accept everything and i can deal with everything.
I would not take it. For me suicide is more a weighing up. Maybe i have the childish view that it is a symbol of protest. When life becomes cruel and it only becomes worse why should i play this game. However i struggle to find the right point to make a cut...

If that med could cure my bipolar disorder too, I would certainly take it.

If you didn't know it already, lithium lowers the risk of suicide and no other medication does that.

I guess that's how religion was started. So many people struggling for no reason so why not create this reason(medication)? There a list of stuff, if you will do according to this list - you will be ok, just don't kill yourself and in afterlife you will get your nirvana/72virgins/etc. Pretty progressive for that time.

Maybe i have the childish view that it is a symbol of protest.
Kiss your thouths on this place. Just same.

This line though. If I accept everything, then I have no worries. This goes beyond just suicidality and solves most of my problems. I would take that chance.

Or would I?
Maybe i have the childish view that it is a symbol of protest.
From a rebels' point of view (and I am one, romantically at least), the question really becomes: would I take a pill that makes me lie to myself?

I think that if your suicidal thoughts are a 'stand alone' problem, yes. But if they are secondary to something else, then no.

My suicidal thoughts are (in my not so humble opinion of course) a rational response to the suffering of my depression. Taking suicide away is taking the only certain cure away.

I wouldn't take it, you'd basically live in a world or with an illness you don't want except you can't leave for a long time because you wouldn't be suicidal anymore to stop it.

That sounds like torture.
